3D Portrait Studio: Omote 3D Shashin Kan

OMOTE 3D SHASHIN KAN is the world’s first 3D portrait studio, where you can create a miniature figuring of yourself. They opened up a Pop-up Store in Tokyo for 2 months, where people can get themselves 3D scanned, and receive full-color 3D printed figurines. They have created all of the designs, including the spatial design of the Pop-up Store, the product design of the figurines themselves (the product design mainly refers to the development of the data correction technology. Currently they are applying for the patent of this technique), the package design of the figurines, the original textures, the logos, and so forth.

The reservations were full before the opening of the Pop-Up Store. The impact not only spread through Japan, but also the countries around the world. Famous celebrities such as TED fellow JR, JJ Abrams, and Pharrell came to Japan to get their 3D figurines made. Our project was featured by most of the Japanese TV stations/newspapers and was also covered by over 50 renown media including ABC news, CNN, GIZMODO, and more. By media conversion, over 300 million yen worth of promotion effect was obtained. Likewise, we have received more than 1,000 inquiry mails all over the world.
